The slow food movement never argued against cooking quickly when needed — it argued against a culture where quickly became the only option available.

A slow media equivalent wouldn't reject breaking news. It would simply insist that not everything needs to be published at the speed of the fastest competitor, and that some stories are better a week late and fully reported.
